Ronnie's 17 months

I really have been lax with posts but this year has flown in the blink of an eye!
So to catch up on all things Ronnie he had his op to get rid of his boy bits and he got even more demented than he was before! He hated Christmas and fully refused to take part in it what so ever, he was grumpy in front of the fire all day! His hyper activity got worse once we returned to dog training and I was at a loss, until I bought a cheap version of a thunder shirt to test and training became easier, so I bought the real thing and it's done wonders.
In March he attended his first fun dog and picked up 5 rosettes which shocked me! At the end of March he turned one we had a doggy party for him at Cusworth where he loves to go. His temperament changed almost as soon as he turned one and training became even easier.
He has attended a few dog shows each month since and has picked 4 places, no best in show as yet. I have taken him to dogs unleashed at bakewell. Which was fantastic I loved every second of it. He retook his bronze good citizen and passed with flying colours, so now we are waiting for silver as he's ready for that.
I've been off 9 weeks with my little man and I'm gutted to be going back to work on Monday as I'll miss our walks to Cusworth and just hanging out with him, but tomorrow we are off to another dog show so it's a nice farewell to the summer hols

Sorry I haven't written

Sorry it's taken me so long to write on my blog, but I'm here now and I will try to fill you in on everything I have done since mummy started this blog for me.

Well I will start by saying that mummy took me to the vets a few weeks ago about having me neutered I didn't really know what that meant so I went along with it. I kept hearing mummy and granny talking about my operation and I started to get a bit nervy, they booked me in at the poodle parlour for a nice short clip and they shaved my boy bits! How very dare they even look down there!!!! I was really naughty when I went and I am normally so well behaved but I didn't want my boy bits looking at and I didn't want my face or my feet shaving so I kicked off and made it as difficult as I could for them to clip me. Mummy and Granny told me off as I may have to find someone else to clip me or have mummy clip me! So I best behave next time.

The next day mummy took me to Cusworth, I love it there we had a full English breakfast and mummy sneaked me some bacon and baked beans I love both, we walked around the lake and mummy let me off the lead which is nice because I'm really naughty and can't be trusted to come off the lead if other dogs are around, but mummy brings my fave treats and I don't go far when she has those! Later that day I went to puppy training for my bronze award and I was really naughty I knew my operation was soon and I thought I'd just be really naughty and kick off. Thing is I realise how upset my mummy would get when I refused to sit and stay, never really thought there would be tears but there was.

I am thankfully going into the silver class so my friends Evie, Rosie and Jackson who passed their bronze will be there for me and I have to do my sit and stay at another point, this time I am to behave myself and sit and stay.

The day of the operation came round that following Tuesday mummy took me before she went to work, I didn't like her leaving me at the vets they put me in a cage with my lead on so I took advantage of shredding my Halti lead, when mummy picked me up the man at the vets asked if the lead was like that when I came in, mummy wasn't best impressed but she didn't tell me off cos I was poorly. The operation didn't really calm me down which I think mummy is rather peeved about, it was a long two weeks of not being able to do anything. I helped mummy put the Christmas tree up and then the day after I pulled all the tinsel off and chewed it, Granny and mummy wasn't too happy about that.

I went to my first Christmas party last week and I came second the the fancy dress competition
My mummy and Granny made me a sleigh that lite up and had presents in it
It was so much fun, we came second in the egg and spoon race, the balloon race and the putting knickers on race. Mummy and Granny really enjoyed the food and pop and the games, it was great to see my friends as well and have a play.
My mummy is off work now for two weeks and she has promised me lots of walks to Cusworth as that is my fave place to go. We have been Saturday and Sunday, we can't go tomorrow has my mummy has to go to the hospital for Physio but she has promised me when she gets back from the gym on Tuesday that we are going for a walk to Cusworth, I am so excited about that mummy can go to the gym every day as long as she takes me for walkies, I will keep my paws crossed for some nice dry weather.  Mummy says I can up date this blog more often and Santa is bringing my an action camera so you can all see my fave walk as I see it!

Reason's why I've started this blog

Hi I'm Rachael the owner and mummy of Ronnie the miniature poodle, I have often wondered over the last five months what he thinks of things, what goes through his mind and how he sees things in life.

He has experienced a lot while he has been with us and he's handled himself very well, he's been on the bus loads of times, traveled on the train to the seaside a few times, he's been to shopping centre's and to the park. Lets not forget how spoilt he gets and the amount of attention that is around him 24 hours a day. So I am going to let Ronnie tell you about his days and his training to become a medical awareness dog and all the fun he has in between.  I've bought an action camera and am waiting to get a harness to attach it to him so we can see things through his eyes, so video's will join this blog as well.

So this is Ronnie's mum signing over to Ronnie to tell you all about his life!
